The firm of O'Rourke & Frick Architects, Inc., began in 1952 when Don J. O'Rourke joined W.F. Bowen,Architect, on a part time basis. At the same time he was teaching at Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette)in the Engineering Drawing Department. He shortly became a partner in the firmand the name became W. F. Bowen, Architect and Don. J. O'Rourke, Architects& Engineers. He continued to teach and became an Instructor in theDepartment of Civil Engineering until 1958. He had been teaching some coursesin the Art & Architecture and he resigned as an Instructor in the CivilEngineering Department and continued to teach part time in the Art &Architecture Department until 1960.In 1958 he left the firm of Bowen & O’Rourke, Architects andEngineers and practiced alone for three years. Gerald M. Gossen joined the firm,and the firm became Don J. O’Rourke,AIA, Gerald M. Gossen, PE, Architects & Engineers. Eventually the firmbecame a corporation, and the name became O’Rourke, Gossen & Associates,Ltd., a Professional Architectural Corporation.In March 1983, Don J. O’Rourke, elected to practice alone again and the firm was known as Don J. O’Rourke & Associates Ltd., A Professional Architectural Corporation and continuesthat way today.The firm has continually employed and trained some of Lafayette's finest Architects. Brent Frick joined the firm in 2004 and has carried through to becoming licensed with the firm. In 2021 Brent Frick became part owner of the firm and the firm's name was changed to reflect the leadership added to the firm.

Brent A. Frick

Brent Frick is the current President of the firm and has been a registered architect since 2008. Brent graduated with honors fromthe University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004 with a Professional Bachelorof Architecture degree and has been with the frim since 2004. Brent also holds a Landscape Contractor license since 1994. Brent is a member of Tau Sigma DeltaHonor Society, Emerging Leaders Institue Class of 2015, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and has heldleadership positions with both the AIA and CSI at the local and state levels.  

Don J. O'Rourke, Sr.

As the founding member of the firm, Don O’Rourke has been a registered architectsince 1958 and president of the firm since its inception till 2021. He graduated from theSouthwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette)in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Prior to practicingarchitecture, Don was an instructor with the Architecture & CivilEngineering departments from 1951-1960. Don has been a member of many local andnational organizations including the American Institute of Architects (AIA),Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Past President of the SouthLouisiana AIA Chapter, Kappa Mu Epsilon, Tau Beta Pi Honor EngineeringAssociation, Louisiana Engineering Society, Greater Southwest Mardi Gras Association,Member Emeritus and Selected King Gabriel XLVII 1986 (Krewe of Gabriel), Memberof the Board of Directors – Acadiana CCA, Former member of LBA Savings BankBoard of Directors, and Former Consulting Architect for the Louisiana Stadiumand Exposition District for 5 years.
